Dan Ohlwiler

Professionally licensed in both the securities and insurance industries, Dan passed his series 65 in 2016, is an Investment Adviser Representative, and an approved member of the National Ethics Bureau. Dan has been in the financial services industry since 1981 and has been working specifically in the retirement market since 1984 when he began conducting his informational retirement workshops. He has had the opportunity of meeting with great people over the years and has a broad understanding of issues related to distributions from IRAs, 401(K), 403(b) and other retirement plans. Using this knowledge he has helped his clients design customized retirement plans to work toward each individual client's needs and goals. Taking a conservative approach in the planning process, Dan works hard to help protect his clients' hard earned principal and has enjoyed working with the great people over the years who have become part of the family of clients of Sterling Financial Advisors.

Jason Ohlwiler

Client Servicing

As Sterling Financial Advisors has grown, so has the need for additional staff. When that need arose, Dan decided to see if he could get one of his sons interested in coming onboard. When presented the opportunity to join SFA, Jason jumped at the chance and has been a great addition. He has enjoyed working with Dan and learning the responsibility we have of assisting our clients in helping pursue the hopes and dreams they have for their retirement. With his degree from Brandman University in Organizational Leadership (part of the Chapman University System), Jason's primary responsibility is client servicing and making sure the on-going needs of our clients take a top priority. However, he also takes part in planning many of our client appreciation events and enjoys meeting with the great people who have put their trust in Sterling Financial Advisors.

Marilyn Ohlwiler

Executive Assistant

Marilyn started working with Dan back in 1984 when Dan first began doing his retirement seminars. Although they enjoyed working together, they decided she should take a break from work as their children started getting older. She then became a stay-at-home mom for the next 20 years. After finally getting their five children graduated from high school and off to college, Marilyn came back into the business and has enjoyed meeting, working with, and servicing the wonderful people who are clients of Sterling Financial Advisors.

Lisa Brabender

Office Administrator

Lisa came to Sterling Financial Advisors after running her own yoga business for many years. Due to the Covid pandemic, she unfortunately ended up having to close her business, which turned into being a great blessing for Sterling.

Lisa has become “one of the family” here at Sterling Financial Advisors and has been a great addition to our company. Her outgoing personality has certainly brightened our office atmosphere. Her attention to detail has helped improve our client database, filing systems, and overall client servicing needs. Being multi-lingual has also helped with the on-going servicing needs of many of our clients as well.

Lisa grew up in New York and moved to California when she was sixteen and has lived here ever since. She and her husband Dan currently live in Santa Margarita, CA and they have one daughter.
