Professionally licensed in both the securities and insurance industries, and an approved member of the National Ethics Bureau, Dan has been in the financial services industry since 1981 and has been working specifically in the retirement market since 1984 when he began conducting his educational retirement  workshops.  He has had the opportunity of meeting with thousands of great people over the years and has sometimes been called "The IRA Professor" because of his understanding and knowledge of the ever-changing tax laws affecting distributions from IRAs, 401(K), 403(b) and other retirement plans.  

Using this knowledge he has helped his clients design customized retirement plans to meet each individual client's needs and goals.  Taking a conservative approach in the planning process, Dan works hard to protects his clients' hard earned principal and has enjoyed working with the great people over the years who have become part of the family of clients of Sterling Financial Advisors.

Dan grew up in Southern California and after high school attended Brigham Young University.  He met his wife, Marilyn, while attending college and they were married in 1978 after he graduated in Business Administration. They moved back to Southern California in 1979 and have been here ever since.  Currently living in Lake Forest, CA they have been blessed with five wonderful children.  They are now experiencing what it means to be grandparents and are enjoying that experience as well (they say it's too bad they couldn't have had grandchildren first!).
